Lumpy Grits Artistry is gearing back up for their 2023-2024 season. In 2018, LGA
produced an Afro-Greek version of Lysistrata and took the show on the road. In 2020,
LGA produced an Afro-Greek version of Elektra that was filmed due to Covid-19. The film premiered in June 2021. They are currently in production for Ratchet City Blues: The Documentary. Children and Youth Theatre performed, Tell Me A Tale of Resistance, this past spring at Central Art Station and a local community event.
Join Lumpy Grits Artistry on February 3-4, 2024 at Eastbank Theatre for the LGA presents Children’s Theatre Short Scenes. The youth troupe will perform a trio of scenes such as Anansi: Lord of Stories and more.
LGA Children’s Theatre
Come witness how the trickster Anansi the Spider gained the title lord of stories in all of Ghana Land and beyond. Using creativity and wit, Anansi creates several plans to meet Nyame the God of the Sky requests. Children will meet Onini the Python, Oseba the Leopard and the Mboro Hornets.
